Washington County Shooting Update Sixteen-year-old Nicole Sell of Slinger was sleeping in the back of a car when she was shot in a drive-by shooting in Washington County on May 3rd. County Sheriff's officials say that's one of the facts they learned in speaking with over 50 people about the incident. Sell, Justin Towne and Scott Cecil had left the Casa Rebecca restaurant in Towne's car when a black SUV drove up within feet of their rear bumper. Towne tapped his brakes. The vehicle continued to follow and Towne again tapped his brakes and pulled over to the right to allow the SUV to pass. The SUV pulled alongside and that's when multiple gunshots were fired from it into the rear driver's side of the Towne vehicle. Sell, who was asleep in the back of the car, was struck in the head. Investigators aren't sure if the shooting was a result of "road rage" or because of a relationship between the shooter and those in the Towne vehicle they have yet to discover. The shooting left Sell in critical condition. It's believed the shooter wasn't able to see her in the back of the Towne vehicle.
