$1 Million Bond Set For Berlin Murder Suspect

Bond was set at $1 million cash for the 33-year-old Berlin man suspected of shooting his estranged wife and her boyfriend to death last Saturday night. Nicholas Tuinstra was charged in Green Lake County Court Thursday with two counts of 1st Degree Intentional Homicide in the deaths of Melissa Tuinstra and Justin Daniels. According to the criminal complaint Nicholas Tuinstra showed up at his mother’s home about 11 p.m. that night very upset. It was shortly after that Melissa Tuinstra and Justin Daniels bodies were found.  Fourteen bullet casings were found at the scene of the murder. Prosecutors say all the shots were fired from behind. Police have not been able to find the handgun used in the shootings. A status hearing will be scheduled in the case.
