14 New COVID-19 Cases Confirmed Over Weekend In FDL County

The COVID-19 numbers were
down statewide, but that wasn’t the case in Fond du Lac County.
County Public Health Officer Kim Mueller
announced Monday there were 14 additional confirmed positive tests for COVID-19
that came back over the weekend. That brings the total confirmed count to 214.

Mueller stated there are now 90 active cases, with 9 hospitalizations.
Mueller said they expect to see positive cases pop up over the next weeks and
months, but said the key will be in keeping the number of people who contract the
disease low, and the ones who do get sick, from requiring hospitalization.

It’s
been a month since businesses began reopening in the county, and Mueller says she’s been impressed with how businesses have opened and the
plans the businesses put in place as to how they would reopen. And the plans in
place are working. But she also said there are also no excuses when it comes to
protecting yourself and those around you. And that means staying home when you
are sick. Avoiding gatherings that would involve large numbers, and remember to
continue to wash your hands and wear a mask when at all possible.
