215 Votes Separate Grothman And Leibham In 6th Congressional Primary
State Senator Glenn Grothman thanked his supporters for giving him a victory in the Republican Primary for the 6th Congressional District race. During the gathering in Fond du Lac Grothman continued his message about reforming welfare. Grothman says his opponents had more money in the campaign so for him and his supporters it was a well earned victory. He’s not taking his opponent in the November 4th election Winnebago County Executive Mark Harris for granted. He says Harris will be a strong opponent and a lot of money will be pumped into the campaign to prevent Republicans from holding onto the seat. Grothman defeated State Senator Joe Leibham in the Republican primary by a little over 200 votes. Leibham issued a statement about 2:30 this morning saying he’d wait for election officials to finish counting and double checking all the votes cast in Tuesday’s election.
