2nd Installment Of Property Taxes Due Friday 7/31

Lost in the craziness of the pandemic this year, is that fact that Friday marks the final day of July, and with it comes the reminder that the second installment of 2019 property taxes is due. Fond du Lac County Treasurer, Brenda Schneider, says payments can be mailed to:

Fond du Lac County Treasurer, P.O. Box 1515, Fond du Lac, WI 54936-1515.

It’s also helpful to include the appropriate payment stub(s) with your payment. If a receipt is desired, include a self-addressed, stamped envelope. Payments may also be deposited in one of the drop boxes, located next to the north entrance to the building, and a second one near the exit of the Sheriff’s Office parking lot, located at the corner of Macy Street and Western Avenue.

For added convenience, property tax payments may be made by using a major credit card. Pay online at www.fdlco.wi.gov  or simply call 1-855-844-7563. A convenience fee of 2.39% will be assessed by Point & Pay, the third-party payment service provider.

Payments may be made in-person at the Fond du Lac County Treasurer’s office located on the 1st floor of the City-County Government Center, 160 S. Macy Street. Office hours are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. All citizens entering the building are required to pass through the security check-point located at the north entrance.

Due to COVID-19, it is strongly recommended payments be mailed, deposited in one of the secure drop boxes or paid electronically. Please note that failure to postmark mailed payments by the deadline will result in delinquent penalty and interest charges if the payment is not received by the end of the five business day grace period.

However, per Resolution 19-20, approved by the County Board on May 19th, 2020, the County Treasurer’s Office is authorized to waive the .5% per month penalty retroactive to February 1st on all 2019 second installment payments if the payments are made in full by October 1st. Be advised, per Wis. Stats., the taxpayer will be responsible for the interest charge of 1% per month retroactive to February 1st. Contact the County Treasurer’s Office for the current amount due. Property owners are encouraged to pay early in order to avoid delays and allow time to correct any errors in the payment amount.
