Aerial Patrols For State Highway 23

The Wisconsin State Patrol will begin using aerial enforcement on State Highway 23 from U.S. Highway 151 in the city of Fond du Lac to County Road P near the city of Plymouth in Sheboygan County. Crews installed permanent “Air Enforcement Zone” warning signs along the 19-mile stretch this week to alert drivers to new aerial enforcement. Highway 23 is the first highway in northeast Wisconsin to erect permanent aerial enforcement signage. The State Patrol’s Aircraft program consists of three aircraft and five pilots. The program provides aerial support to ground-based units in traffic law enforcement. They detect speeding and reckless drivers from surveillance overhead.
