Agnesian HealthCare Named Great Place To Work In HealthCare

Agnesian HealthCare is featured in the Becker’s Healthcare 2016 list of “150 Great Places to Work in Healthcare,” a compilation of hospitals, health systems, ambulatory surgery centers, physician groups, vendors and other healthcare organizations that provide excellent work environments and outstanding benefits to their employees.

The list features both U.S. healthcare provider organizations, such as hospitals, health systems, ambulatory surgical centers and home health agencies, as well as other types of healthcare-specific companies, like consulting firms, health IT vendors, medical societies and more.

A version of this list has been published every year since 2011, but this is the third year the list features both providers and non-provider organizations. Agnesian HealthCare has also been recognized in 2011 and 2014.

The Becker’s Healthcare editorial team determined the organizations included on this year’s list. Organizations that submitted nominations were considered, as were organizations that received national, state or local recognition previously earned for workplace excellence, as well as benefits offerings, wellness initiatives, and efforts to improve professional development, diversity and inclusion, work-life balance and a sense of community among employees.

Sue Edminster, vice president of Human Resources at Agnesian HealthCare, validates the belief that all of its associates (employees) are the foundation of Agnesian HealthCare’s mission, values and vision.

“Over the last few years, we have engaged our associates in creating and committing to a culture of relationships – both to our patients, residents and families, and to one another,” Edminster says. “By listening, respecting, investing and engaging our associates we have provided the framework to achieve our goals.

“The honor of being recognized externally as a top 150 Great Places to Work in Healthcare provides validation of the work we do to provide associates with the skills, tools and rewards to be successful in delivering Simply the Best service and care to our community,” Edminster adds. “We believe that associate involvement in work design, process improvement and decision making will lead to better patient outcomes. As healthcare continues to evolve and undergo major changes, associate involvement will be critical in developing ways to improve the patient experience and be good stewards of our resources. It is an honor to be recognized for the work our associates do.”
