Agnesian Wound Care Recognized

Agnesian Wound Care professionals have been recognized for their outstanding quality care and customer service with a Center of Distinction Award from Healogics, the nation’s largest provider of advanced wound care services.

Healogics is honoring Agnesian Wound Care for achieving clinical outcomes for 12 consecutive months, including patient satisfaction higher than 92 percent, and a minimum wound healing rate of at least 91 percent within 30 median days to heal.

While there were 800 centers eligible for the Center of Distinction award, only 221 centers achieved this honor.

Each patient receives a treatment plan designed with their specific needs in mind, using evidence-based wound management practices, in addition to HBO medicine,” according to Jon Moen, MD, medical director. “Plus, we work closely with our patients’ primary care providers to ensure a smooth transition from wound care to continued care and maintenance.”

More than eight million people in the United States suffer from chronic wounds that are difficult to heal due to diseases and conditions, such as diabetes, obesity, aging and the late effects of radiation therapy.

Agnesian Wound Care offers highly specialized wound care to patients suffering from diabetic ulcers, pressure ulcers, infections and other chronic wounds which have not healed in a reasonable amount of time. Advanced treatments include negative pressure wound therapy, bio-engineered skin substitutes, hyperbaric oxygen therapy, biological and biosynthetic dressings and growth factor therapies.

Fond du Lac and Waupun locations offer hyperbaric chambers. Hyperbaric oxygen is a treatment, in which a patient breathes 100 percent oxygen intermittently while inside a treatment chamber at a pressure higher than sea level pressure. The treatment quickly delivers high concentrations of oxygen to the bloodstream, and assists in the healing process. It also stimulates the growth of new blood vessels and improves circulation. HBOT can help reduce swelling, fight infection, and build new blood vessels, and produces healthy tissue.

Agnesian Wound Care is a member of the Healogics network of nearly 800 centers, and provides access to benchmarking data and proven experience treating approximately 2.5 million chronic wounds.

Agnesian Wound Care services are also offered in Ripon. To learn more, visit agnesian.com/wound-care.
