AirVenture Struggles to Hire Additional Workers

EAA AirVenture is about to get underway in Oshkosh – despite a struggle for the event to bring in workers. The big crowds require lots of part-time and temporary job opportunities, which have been tough to fill during a time of such low unemployment. About 500 to 600 extra people are usually brought in to sell t-shirts, bartend, and more during AirVenture.

An estimated 590,000 people attended the event last year – which was a five-percent increase over 2016. AirVenture has a $170 million economic impact on the five counties around the area, reaching from Fond du Lac to Brown County.
