Alliance Laundry Systems Purchases former Manitowoc Crane Facility
Ripon-based Alliance Laundry Systems has closed on its
purchase of the former Manitowoc Crane Company plant. The company said Tuesday
that the 330-thousand square foot location will be used to help grow production
at the Ripon facility. The move is expected to create 250 jobs in the Manitowoc
area and re-open the now shuttered plant. In a news release, Alliance Laundry
Systems CEO Mike Schoeb called the move a “win for Ripon, Manitowoc and
Alliance Laundry Systems,” and added that “by shifting some functions to the
new facility, we will be able to grow high-value production locally and
increase the output of this factory with additional job creation in both
communities.”
Work is expected to begin on the Manitowoc facility in
early September. Alliance says the move is not intended to reduce positions in
Ripon, as staff will be redeployed elsewhere in the facility.
