American Concert And Fireworks At Lakeside Park
The Fond du Lac Symphonic Band will present its traditional Americana Concert in the bandstand at Lakeside Park in Fond du Lac tonight at 7:30 p.m. Erected and donated to the community by William McDermott, the bandstand has been home to Fourth of July band concerts since 1901. American popular music will be represented with Sammy Nestico’s American Spice, Gershwin’s Strike Up the Band, A Tribute to Elvis, and a medley of pop tunes from the 1910’s and 20’s: Themes Like Old Times. There will also be patriotic songs as well. The Band’s performance will be followed by fireworks on the lakefront at 9:30 p.m.
