April Ballot Will Have More To Offer Voters

Fond du Lac County Clerk Lisa Freiberg is expecting a bigger turnout at the polls during the April election. Bigger compared to the turnout for Tuesday’s primary election, but small compared to what will be seen during the fall election. In addition to settling the State Supreme Court race voters will be voting on a statewide referendum. Freiberg says, “The next election will be just our cities and villages have a few contests, and town of Taycheedah of course the rest of the towns do not. The school districts, but even that looks quiet, but statewide there is the statewide referendum to eliminate the state treasurer.” There will be three races for the County Board including District 6. Freiberg says, “District 6 that would be over in the Brandon-Fairwater, little part of Waupun. Tom Dornbrook filed non-candidacy so we have Mike Beer and Lowell Prill running over there for that in April.” Dornbrook now lives in District 9 and will challenge incumbent Joseph Koch (COOK) for that seat.  In District 2 Andrew Zuelke (ZOOL-kee) will challenge incumbent Gary Will. There’s also a Fond du Lac City Council race, Mayor’s race in Ripon and Village Board President’s race in North Fond du Lac.
