Attendance Up At EAA AirVenture

Attendance was up at the past week’s EAA AirVenture in Oshkosh. Dick Knapinski of EAA says 563,000 people attended the World’s largest fly-in and convention, an increase of 1 percent over 2015.  He says there were many highlights among them performances by the Canadian Forces Snowbirds, the 2 millionth Young Eagle who flew with Harrison Ford, and the Martin Mars Water Bomber. He says they have already lined up the performers for the opening night concert for next year’s AirVenture. He says Grammy winning Barenaked Ladies will perform. He says their lead singer is an aviation nut, which is appropriate given the venue. The 2017 AirVenture will be July 24th through the 30th at Wittman Regional Airport in Oshkosh.
