Baker Cheese Expansion Helped By Tax Credits

Baker Cheese will be expanding and modernizing its operations in St. Cloud. The Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation announced the expansion Thursday. It’s a $7 million expansion that is expected to create up to 40 new jobs. The WEDC will be authorizing up to $800,000 in tax credits to back the effort. The expansion will allow the operation to be more efficient and produce additional products. The expansion project is currently underway and should be completed by October of 2016. Company President Brian Baker says, “As an organization, we have remained focused on providing high-quality jobs to our local economy and are excited about this next project for the continued growth of our company.”  Baker Cheese was founded in 1916 and manufacturers 100 percent natural string cheese.
