BCI Burke And Evans Students Team Up For Food Drive

As part of the Fond du Lac School District’s Partners In Education collaboration, BCI Burke supported the recent Evans Elementary School collection for the Food for Freedom food drive extravaganza occurring Memorial Day weekend at Fond du Lac High School.  Food for Freedom is not an ordinary food drive, because Fond du Lac County and four other counties around Fond du Lac will attempt to break the world record for the largest food drive in 24 hours at a single location. The current record is 559,885 pounds of food. Six area food pantries will receive food from the community effort: Fondy Food Pantry, Ripon Community Food Pantry, Oshkosh Area Food Pantry, St. Joe’s Food Pantry (Appleton), Paul’s Pantry (Green Bay), and Sheboygan County Food Bank. Shown left to right with the food collected at Evans are Lexi Kifer; Ellen Lock; Rose Ahern, BCI Burke;  Matthew Cook; Jim Botting, Evans Principal; and Xander Braatz.
