Beck Murder Suspect Found Guilty Of Drug Charges

A Fond du Lac County jury Thursday found a 62-year-old Kenosha man suspected of killing Berit Beck guilty of drug and bail jumping charges he was also facing. The drug charges against Dennis Brantner stemmed from a search of him at the Fond du Lac County Jail last March when he was being booked in for the murder of the 18-year-old Sturtevant woman. District Attorney Eric Toney says he’s pleased with the jury’s verdict in the two-day trial. He says the jury did a good job of listening to all the evidence and of rendering a fair and just verdict. Brantner was charged with drug possession and bail jumping charges and eight of those charges were felonies. Toney says a pre-sentence investigation was ordered. The jury only took 45 minutes to deliberate the case. Meanwhile Brantner will go to trial in June for the 1990 murder of Beck.
