Beck Murder Suspect Pleads To Weapon Charge In Kenosha County

The 61-year-old Kenosha man charged with the 1990 murder of Berit Beck in Fond du Lac County has pled to a firearm possession charge in Kenosha County Court. Dennis Brantner pled “no contest” to a charge of felon in possession of a firearm Monday. The judge sentenced Brantner to 82 days in jail, which he was credited for already serving. Meanwhile Brantner is facing a 1st degree murder charge in the July 1990 death of Beck who stopped in Fond du Lac on her way to a training seminar for work. Her van was found in a parking lot and her body was discovered about 6 weeks later in a ditch outside of Waupun. Brantner was arraigned on the murder charge in June and pled not guilty to it. He’s being held in the Fond du Lac County Jail on a $1 million cash bond.
