Belt Buckle Shooter Sentenced

Fond du Lac’s so-called belt buckle shooter was recently sentenced in Fond du Lac County Court. Judge Dale English sentenced 34-year-old William Wilcox of Fond du Lac to 10 years in prison and 5 years of extended supervision. In June a jury found him guilty of four counts of 1st degree recklessly endangering safety and one count of injury by negligent use of a weapon. Charges stem from a shooting incident in downtown Fond du Lac last December. Wilcox fired off four shots early the morning of December 28th in the area of Main and West 2nd Street in Fond du Lac during an altercation. One of the shots hit a passerby in the belt buckle, which deflected the round. Police were in the area when the shots were fired and quickly apprehended him.
