Big Check Presented at Horicon Marsh to WI DNR

Congressman
Glenn Grothman says he was pleased to see U.S. Secretary of the Interior Ryan
Zinke visit the Horicon Marsh to present a check to the state’s Department of
Natural Resources. The $35 million check was part of $1.1 billion in annual
national funding for Wildlife and Fish restoration and conservation efforts.
Grothman says, “We got a grant which comes up from time to time, but Wisconsin got a
considerable share. It was announced at the Horicon Marsh and it was a good
thing that former Congressman Zinke, now Secretary of the Interior was able to
see our state.” Funds from the grant are derived from excise taxes paid by
hunting, shooting, boating and angling industries on firearms, bows and
ammunition and sport fishing tackle, some boat engines, and small engine fuel.
