Boat Operator in Fatal Lake Winnebago Crash Tests Under Legal Limit

A blood test taken after a fatal boat crash on Lake Winnebago shows one of the operators was under the legal limit to operate a boat in Wisconsin. Kim Laabs reportedly had a .026 blood alcohol concentration when the test was taken about two and a half hours after the crash. His attorney says that shows he was not impaired at the time of the crash. The Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office has not said whether that test took the difference in time into account in that test – and cannot comment on it due to the open investigation of the case.
