A
longtime Fond du Lac
pizza restaurant that closed earlier this week has re-opened for business. John
Potter, the owner of Bob’s Pizza on east
Merrill Avenue
, has reached an agreement with Jeff
and Steve Korneli to lease the business with a sale pending. Bob’s Pizza was
founded in 1969 and was owned by Robert Gerbing for 48 years. Potter was an
employee of the restaurant in the 1970s and purchased the business from Gerbing
in January of 2017. Steve Korneli says buying the restaurant was important for
the community. “We put our money and our investments into Fond du Lac. We’re very in to keeping all of
the local businesses in business, so we thought it was very important to keep
Bob’s Pizza as part of that.” Korneli said, “Everybody knows what a pillar of Fond du Lac is, and Bob’s
Pizza was one of them.” Ray Kautz, the General Manager of Bob’s says nothing
will change with the restaurant, the recipe and the hours are the same and the
stock of Bob’s Pizza at local grocery stores should be re-filled by Saturday. The restaurant re-opens at 11 this morning at
its location at 25 East Merrill
Avenue
.
