Body Of FDL Soldier Will Be Escorted Back To City For Funeral

For those who would like to pay their respects the body of Rob Vande Zande Jr will be escorted back into the City of Fond du Lac tomorrow night. The 21-year-old soldier died last Saturday while swimming in a lake in a state park in New Mexico. He was stationed at Fort Bliss in El Paso, Texas. His father Rob Vande Zande Sr. tells us the flight carrying his son home will land in Milwaukee at 6 p.m. The procession into the City of Fond du Lac will be around 8 p.m. Law enforcement, fire department and military personnel will escort the hearse from Highway 41 to Main Street. They will proceed to Johnson Street, then Park Avenue and to the Uecker-Witt Funeral Home at 524 North Park Avenue. Visitation and funeral services are next Monday and Tuesday.
