Boiler At Ripon Library Needs Replacement

The Ripon Common Council this week discussed replacing a boiler at the Library. City Administrator Lori Rich says they have three boilers at the library and one has failed. She says two of the boilers work in tandem on the newer side of the building and the heat exchanger no longer works. She says due to the age of the boiler they can no longer find replacement parts so they are looking at putting in a new boiler. She says Library officials requested money from the City’s contingency fund, about $6,000, to cover the cost. However that request will be reviewed again in the fall. She says the Library has already covered $5,000 of the $11,000 total cost for the boiler replacement.
