Bond Set For Shooting Suspect, No Charges Yet

Bond has been set at $5,000 cash for a 19-year-old Fond
du Lac man accused of firing off a handgun in a Fond du Lac neighborhood and
shooting off a rifle in North Fond du Lac Wednesday night. Fond du Lac County
Judge Peter Grimm set the cash bond during a bail bond hearing Friday morning.
Charges haven’t officially been filed yet, but the man could make his initial
court appearance Monday. Possible charges include recklessly endangering safety,
carrying a concealed weapon and operating a firearm while intoxicated. No one
was hurt during the incidents on Glenwood Drive in Fond du Lac and Florida
Avenue in North Fond du Lac. Fond du Lac Assistant Police Chief Steve Klein says
the man fired off a handgun when a fight broke out at a soccer game on Glenwood
Drive. Later he fired an assault rifle into the air in North Fond du Lac. Klein
says it’s fortunate that no one was hurt. The man was taken into custody during
a high-risk traffic stop in the village.
