Brownsville Farmer Acknowledged

A Brownsville farmer has received the 2016 young producer award for the National Farmers’ Midwest dairy region. Aaron Schraufnagel of Schraufnagel Farms picked up the honor at the National Farmers national convention in Peoria, Illinois on January 26th. He and his wife, Jeana, are co-owners in Schraufnagel Farms LLC, with Aaron’s parents, Andy, Jr., and Bonnie Scraufnagel and Aaron’s brother, Andy III. The farm has been in the family since 1940, and the current operation consists of 140 dairy cows and 110 head of youngstock. They farm about 600 acres of cropland, growing wheat, oats, corn, soybeans and alfalfa.
