Bucks Arena Deal Passes Assembly

The Wisconsin State Assembly passed the area deal for
downtown Milwaukee
today by a 52-34 vote.  41st State
Assemblywoman Joan Ballweg, a Republican from Markesan spoke during the debate,
stating that even though she is an outstate legislature in Wisconsin, the
numbers really work for the state and the investment is one she would love to
have from her bank.  The bill now heads
to Governor Scott Walker’s desk and paves the way for the new multipurpose
arena in Milwaukee
and allowing the Milwaukee Bucks to remain in the state.  52nd Assemblyman Jeremy Thiesfeldt representing the Fond du Lac area was one of four Representatives who did not register a vote for or against the bill.
