Bus Route Improvements In FDL Beginning Next Month

Starting January 3rd Fond du Lac Area Transit will have changes to some of its bus routes. Transit Manager Lynn Gilles says it took nearly two years to finish a Transit Development Plan and there were a lot of stakeholders who had a say on it including community leaders and bus riders. As a result some of their routes will be tweaked. That includes Aurora Health Center being served on Route 25, which used to be Route 20. She they have also changed the numbering scheme for their buses. She says buses that end with a zero leave downtown on the hour and those that end in a five on the half hour. She says they are also adding a bus to give them more half hour service. She says that will be done during their peak user times of 6 to 9 a.m. and 3 to 6 p.m. Gilles says the changes should be beneficial for users of the Transit Service.
