Car Crash Blamed for Power Outage in Oshkosh

A 16-year-old is being questioned by police in Oshkosh
after a car crashed into a utility pole and a house on the north side of the
city early this morning. Police say they responded to the scene in the 600
block of Jackson Street just after 2 o’clock this morning. It was determined
the car was traveling south on Jackson Street when it left the road and hit the
power pole and the house. The accident caused a power outage on the north side
of Oshkosh. Wisconsin Public Service responded to the scene and were able to
restore power to most of the affected areas. As of 5:15 this morning, about 745
customers were still without power according to WPS. Both north and southbound
lanes of Jackson Street are closed while electrical crews restore power to the
rest of the area. No one was injured in the crash and alcohol does not appear
to be a factor.
