Car Crashes into FDL Apartment

One person was injured when a car crashed into an
apartment building in Fond du Lac this (Sunday) morning. Fond du Lac Fire and Rescue
crews responded to the Golfview Estates Apartments on Whispering Springs Drive
at 8:41 am. Upon arriving, firefighters found that a car had crashed into the bedroom
of a first floor apartment. The apartment was occupied at the time of the
crash, but the person inside was not injured. The driver of the car was taken
to the hospital for treatment. The first floor apartment and the unit above
were deemed uninhabitable. The tenants are seeking temporary shelter on their
own. Fire and Rescue crews shored up the structure so the car could be removed.
City of Fond du Lac Police, the City Building & Code office and Alliant Energy assisted at the scene.
