Catherine Block Runs For Reelection To The FDL City Council

Fond du Lac City Council incumbent Catherine Block is seeking another two-year term on the City Council. Block was the one who suggested that all 17 finalists for spots on the Lakeside Park Exploratory Committee be appointed, which the Council did. With the committee only a few months away from presenting its findings she hopes the community will take time to really hear the committee’s recommendations. Block says the opportunity for the City to buy the property next to the library for a library expansion effort would benefit the City and fits in nicely with the Arts and Entertainment District. She says when Commonwealth previously bought the property several things were considered for the building including a Martini Bar and Restaurant. But she says a niche book store makes more sense. By day Block is an attorney and she says she weighs all sides when making a decision during City Council votes with the City’s best interest in mind. She says she has no political agenda, but she likes being part of the Council and efforts to improve Fond du Lac. She is one of five candidates vying for three seats on the Council.
