Charges Filed In 45 Mile Chase
Bond has been set at $10,000 cash for the 37-year-old
Appleton man who led police, sheriff’s deputies and the State Patrol on a chase
through Fond du Lac, Fond du Lac County and into Dodge County on March 3rd.
Maxwell Verkuilen was charged Friday in Fond du Lac County Court with 1st degree
recklessly endangering safety and fleeing an officer charges. During the chase
he ran into a
46-year-old Trevor Driscoll causing the car to roll over. Driscoll was treated
for minor injuries at
and released. Another Sheriff’s deputy was able to run Verkuilen into a snow
bank near some outbuildings on
in the day law enforcement officials got information that he had a gun and
intended to go out with a bang. No gun was found. The chase covered 45 miles. A
preliminary hearing has been scheduled for next Friday, March 28th.
