Childrens Chorale Spring Concert Set

The Fond du Lac Children’s Chorale will perform their Spring Concert, Sunday, May 3 at Thelma Sadoff Center for the Arts (THELMA).

There will be two shows, 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.

Under the direction of David Hein, artistic director, this year’s concert is titled Music to Your Ears: Songs About Birds, Bugs, and Beasts.

The program playfully surveys music that is about, or in some cases by, animals. Of note, Clare Grundman’s delightful, Zoo Illogical – short poetic vignettes pondering the variety and oddity found at the zoo; an arrangement of Emily Dickenson’s droll Bee! I’m Expecting You! by Emma Lou Diemer; and don’t miss the inspiring choral performance of Kermit the Frog’s ode to individuality, Being Green.

For information call 920.322.8943. Tickets are $8 for adults and $4 for children, and are available at thelmaarts.org or through the box office at THELMA at 51 Sheboygan St., downtown Fond du Lac.

In its 19th season, the Fond du Lac Children’s Chorale serves children throughout Fond du Lac county drawing from public and parochial schools. It is a resident ensemble of THELMA. Membership is open to all fourth through eighth grade children, by audition.

Auditions are scheduled at intervals throughout the school year. To learn more, email fdlchildrenschoralesings@gmail.com or find the Children’s Chorale on Facebook.
