Chilton Man Pleads Guilty to Exporting Weapons Overseas

A man from Chilton is facing a lengthy prison sentence after pleading guilty Monday to arms trafficking. Federal prosecutors say 59-year-old Andy Huebschmann admitted to manufacturing numerous guns and related parts for an Australian criminal and gun enthusiast. The items included components for both semi-automatic or fully-automatic triggers and frames that could be assembled into completed pistols. Prosecutors say Huebschmann did not get required export licenses and instead shipped them in containers designed to hide the presence of firearms. Huebschmann plead guilty to one count of violating the Arms Export Control Act and faces up to 20 years in prison. He will be sentenced in federal court on November 4th.
