Christian Home Capital Campaign Gets Support

Agnesian HealthCare and Waupun Memorial Hospital have stepped forward to support The Christian Home and Rehabilitation Center’s capital campaign with a $250,000 donation.

For the past 60 years, The Christian Home and Rehabilitation Center has been providing long-term care, rehabilitation services, memory care and assisted living apartments to individuals and families in the greater Waupun area.

The Christian Home and Rehabilitation Center is working to raise $3 million to build a new 50-bed skilled care facility and modern, state-of-the-art rehabilitation center on a 10-acre site near the Christian Homestead facility on West Brown Street.

Agnesian HealthCare has been collaborating with The Christian Home and Rehabilitation Center for the past four years to provide day-to-day management of The Christian Home and Rehabilitation Center.

“We value the fact that The Christian Home and Rehabilitation Center is a community-owned, faith-based organization,” says Steve Little, Agnesian HealthCare president and chief executive officer. “We appreciate the commitment they have made to the Waupun community, and we share their desire to offer quality long-term and rehab care services locally. As a partner, we are committed to supporting their ongoing success.”

The new facility will meet the growing needs of long-term care residents, as well as have future opportunities to expand in the future.

“We truly value the support that Agnesian HealthCare has given to us that allow us to continue providing these important services to our residents and our community,” according to Susan Buwalda, The Christian Home and Rehabilitation Center Board of Directors chairperson. “The expertise and knowledge in the healthcare field have been substantial. Thanks to their leadership, we are doing well financial and our resident base remains steady.”

Buwalda says the contribution by Agnesian HealthCare and Waupun Memorial Hospital continues this already positive support base.

“As a Board of Directors and Administration, we can see the community trusting us with the care we give to their loved ones,” Buwalda says. “This is a special part of our mission that we do not take lightly. We are honored and blessed to have the opportunity to care for those that are unable to care for themselves. May it be for short-term rehabilitation or long-term care, we love what we do and we strive to continue offering these services well into the future.”
