Commemoration Of Mural Honoring Local Veterans

A Leadership Fond du Lac Team will officially commemorate a mural honoring local veterans with a ribbon cutting on Thursday, July 20 at 2:00 p.m.
The mural was the brainchild of Team Fondy First, a team of the Leadership Fond du Lac Class of 2016-2017. With over 8,500 veterans in Fond du Lac County, the team felt this population was not acknowledged for their efforts and sacrifices for our country. The mural not only raises awareness of veterans in our community, but helps to beautify the downtown area and embraces the arts within the local community.
The 10 foot by 40 foot mural was painted by local artist Bonnie Federman on the north side of Dreher Collision Center, located at 290 North Main Street in Fond du Lac, and honors local veterans from each branch of the service. The veterans pictured in the mural represent various time periods including the 1940’s, 1960’s, 1980’s and 1990’s. In addition, these veterans have worked and leaved in the Fond du Lac community, helping to make it what it is today.
Veterans honored in the mural:
 Private 1st Class Clifford Fisher, U.S. Marines
 Petty Officer 2nd Class Jeffrey Harbridge, U.S. Coast Guard
 Sergeant Charles F. Dreher, U.S. Air Force
 Sergeant Jaime Heider, U.S. Army
 Sergeant First Class Arthur J. Kloetzke, U.S. Navy
