Commonwealth Awarded Tax Credits To Repurpose Ripon Medical Center
Commonwealth Development will be involved in re-purposing the current Ripon Medical Center when the new hospital in Ripon opens up. Ripon City Administrator Lori Rich says the Wisconsin Housing and Economic Development Authority has awarded the company tax credits for the project. According to Commonwealth Vice President Marissa Downs the tax credits awarded by WHEDA amount to $522,667 in tax credits. Rich says the developer will be putting in apartments and townhouses, but will be using the medical center and adding the townhouses to the north of the current building. In April of last year WHEDA awarded Commonwealth $275,000 in tax credits to build the Jefferson Street Apartments behind the Ripon City Hall. That project involves the construction of nine townhouses and a four story 15-unit apartment building with underground parking. Downs says they will be working with ADVOCAP on the re-purposing project involving the Ripon Medical Center.
