Community Baby Shower A Success

A Leadership Fond du Lac team recently partnered with the Fond du Lac Family Resource Center to hold the first annual Fill-the-Truck Event – a community wide baby shower – on April 6th.  The Fond du Lac community came out in full force to support the event, bringing bundles of baby item donations and filling the donation truck.  In total, the donation drive received 5,340 diapers (about 95 cases), 81 packages of wipes, 1,187 pieces of clothing, 30 pairs of shoes, 20 pack n plays, 150 children’s books and much more.

The Leadership Fond du Lac team not only hosted the Baby Shower event, but also collected monetary donations to remodel a room at the Family Resource Center; which will allow the organization to sort and store the items.  A number of organizations helped contribute to the event and to fund the remodel of the new “baby closet”.  A special thank you goes to Grande Cheese Company, Agnesian Healthcare, Shea Electric, BMO Harris Bank, Dental Associates, Mercury Marine, Alliant Energy, Cops for Kids, RockTenn, Festival Foods and the entire Fond du Lac community for their support.

The Family Resource Center needs support all year round and they are always looking for clothes sizes newborn to 5T (new or gently used), formula, diapers, wipes and children’s books.  For more information about donating to the Family Resource Center, contact (920) 923-4110.  The Center is located at 104 S. Main Street, Suite 302 in Fond du Lac.
