Community Health Survey Being Conducted

The Fond du Lac County Health Department will be conducting a community health survey over the next few weeks. Public Health Officer Kim Mueller says beginning Thursday an independent research firm will be calling County residents to ask them to participate in the 15 minute survey. The survey will update the findings of a survey conducted three years ago. Mueller says it will take about three weeks to get the 400 participants they are hoping for. She says it will take two to three months to compile the results and she is hoping to have the results back in the fall. She says they will share the results with the public next spring. Mueller says the survey helps give them an idea of how they are doing with health efforts in the community and what they can do better. The survey focuses on issues such as access to health care, tobacco use, alcohol use, diet, physical activity, heart health, injury prevention, immunizations, mental health and chronic disease. In addition to the Health Department, Agnesian HealthCare, Aurora Health, the Fond du Lac School District, the United Way, YMCA and several others are partnering to conduct the survey.
