Con-way Freight Facility Celebrates Grand Opening

Con-way Freight celebrated the grand opening of their new state-of-the-art service center in Fond du Lac Wednesday afternoon. State Senator Rick Gudex says he and State Representative Jeremy Thiesfeldt are always looking for ways to grow the economy and Con-way’s new facility gives them hope. Fond du Lac City Council President Sam Meyer says the City’s location helps Con-way, but the company’s ability to move freight also helps City businesses. John McCutcheon is the director of operations for Con-way Freight’s Milwaukee region. He says the 47,000 square-foot freight facility in the Fox Ridge Business Park is a major investment in the region for the company. It was an $8 million project that has 96 doors with the ability to expand to 120. It also created 60 news jobs in the community. Also on hand for the grand opening and ribbon cutting were Fond du Lac County Executive Al Buechel, Fond du Lac County Economic Development Corporation President Steve Jenkins, Fond du Lac Community Development Director Wayne Rollins, Fond du Lac City Councilman Gary Miller, State Representatives Jeremy Thiesfeldt and a host of others.
