Congressman Grothman Feels Trump Will Provide More Transportation Funding

The state of Wisconsin could see some help with its transportation funding from the federal government. Congressman Glenn Grothman says Donald Trump has made a commitment to provide more funding for road projects, but just how much that will actually work out to remains to be seen. He says President Trump has been talking about $1 trillion, which he says isn’t likely but Grothman feels there will be more for roads. He says that should take some pressure off state legislators. Grothman says an audit of the state’s Department of Transportation did find projects haven’t been done as frugally as they could be. He says the easing of federal mandates could reduce the paperwork for projects local and state governments do. He says Trump will be more aggressive to make sure more money reaches local units of government and that they are able to do more with it.
