Congressman Petri Announces Congressional Art Competition Winners

Congressman Tom Petri recently announced the winner of the 2014 Congressional Art Competition at a reception at the Thelma Sadoff Center for the Arts in Fond du Lac.  This year’s winner is Sarah Olson from Neenah High School for her drawing entitled “Lost in Thought.”  A photo of Congressman Petri with Sarah along with her winning drawing can be seen above. Forty-six students from sixteen high schools submitted artwork for the competition Petri said, “I’d like to congratulate Sarah for her winning artwork and I’m proud to have her drawing represent our district in Washington.” Sarah’s work will be displayed in the U.S. Capitol for one year.  Sarah and her family will also be invited to go to Washington for a national reception to honor winning artists from across the country in June. Finalists from Wisconsin’s Sixth District also include: Emma Raleigh from Lodi High School who received the Jurors’ Award; Chande Blurton from Neenah High School who received the Merit Award; and Paige Teske from Kiel High School, Jennifer Chaltry from Fond du Lac High School, and Emily Esser from Cedarburg who attends Brookfield Academy received Honorable Mentions.
