Construction Of Lakeside Park Pavilion Delayed By A Year

Construction of a new pavilion at Lakeside Park in Fond du Lac has been pushed back a year. Fond du Lac Public Works Director Jordan Skiff recently talked with KFIZ News about the capital improvement projects that the DPW will be doing over the next few years. Replacement of the current pavilion won’t happen until 2020. He says they needed to push back a big project and since it was a stand alone project they picked it. But they will be designing the pavilion next year. The project will begin in the fall of 2020 after Labor Day. He says the shell of the building will be put up before winter sets in and interior work will be completed during the winter months. The hope is to open the pavilion by the following Memorial Day if not by Walleye Weekend. City staff has already begun informing people who usually rent out the pavilion every year about the plans for construction of a new pavilion.
