Controlled Detonation at Lakeside Park West

Loud booms heard in the area Tuesday evening were the result
of a controlled detonation. That’s according to Fond du Lac Assistant Police
Chief Steve Klein, who says the detonation took place around 7:45 pm at
Lakeside Park West. Klein says the items detonated were old live military
ordinance found inside a home in the City of Fond du Lac. Explosive Ordinance Disposal
(EOD) Members of the 115th Air National Guard Unit out of Madison and the bureau of
Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) performed the detonation. There
was no danger to the public.
