Cookie Daze In Ripon Saturday

Ripon becomes the center of the cookie universe with their 20th annual Cookie Daze Saturday at Barlow Park. Ripon Area Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Jason Mansmith says it’s rain or shine and thousands will be attending. He says the free festival runs from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. He says many activities are tailored for kids, but there’s also a Bake & Taste Competition with the best recipes competing for prizes and a chance to win the coveted People’s Choice Award. He says one of the biggest attractions is the cookie drop where a bucket full of cookies is hoisted by a fire truck about 70 to 80 feet in the air and wrapped cookies are dropped for eagerly awaiting children.
