Coordinated Law Enforcement St. Patrick’s Day Weekend
Law enforcement agencies across Fond du Lac County and the state will be participating in a drunken driving enforcement effort this St. Patrick’s Day weekend. Fond du Lac Assistant Police Chief Steve Klein says some counties formed task forces to tackle multiple traffic enforcement efforts, but Fond du Lac County instead does coordinated enforcement. Klein says if you’re going to drink this weekend plan to have someone sober do the driving for you whether it’s a designated driver, through a shared ride program or taxi. The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office, and police departments from Fond du Lac, North Fond du Lac, Ripon, Waupun, Rosendale, Campbellsport, Brandon-Fairwater, and the Wisconsin State Patrol will be out in force this weekend throughout the county. The seat belt law will also be enforced.
