Crash on Highway 23 Sends One to the Hospital

A man from St. Cloud was flown to a hospital after a crash
on Highway 23 in the Town of Forest this (Sunday) afternoon. The Fond du Lac
County Sheriff’s Office says the crash happened on Highway 23 west of the
intersection with County Highway G just before 1 pm. Investigators say a van being
driven east on Highway 23 by a 25-year-old man from Sheboygan Falls rear ended
a tractor pulling a manure spreader driven by a 38-year-old man from St. Cloud.
The crash caused the tractor and spreader to jackknife and overturn. The St.
Cloud man was pinned under the tractor and had to be removed by emergency
crews. He was flown by Flight for Life to Theda Care Regional Medical Center in
Neenah with serious injuries. The driver of the van was not injured. Highway 23
was closed for about four and a half hours while the crash was investigated. The
cause of the crash remains under investigation.
