The cause of an early morning fire in Fond du Lac remains under
investigation. FDL Fire/Rescue was called out at 2:45 a.m. Tuesday morning, after
a  Fond
du Lac
Police Officer detected smoke during a routine
patrol. The smoke was seen exiting the rear of the former Casket Company located
at 16 N. Brooke St.
 Upon
arrival, crews found heavy fire and smoke coming from the rear of the warehouse.
A water main break early on in the fire fight, created some supply issues. City
water department and Alliant Energy were called to the scene.  Crews remained
on the scene searching for hot spots and investigation for the exact location
for the start of the fire.
