Deadline To Run For County Board District 16 Seat Today

The deadline has been extended for anyone who is interested in running for the Fond du Lac County Board 16th District supervisory seat. County Clerk Lisa Freiberg says the incumbent Martin Schroeder didn’t have enough nomination signatures. She says as a result the deadline has been extended to 5 p.m. today to get in a campaign registration statement, declaration of candidacy, and nomination papers. Fifty signatures are required from residents of the 16th district or Wards 2 through 7 in the Village of North Fond du Lac. She recommends candidates contact her first, but they can start getting nomination signatures before they do the other paper work. Freiberg says candidates running for County Board seemed to really enjoy the process this time. In the event that there are no candidates for District 16 the seat could be won through a write-in campaign.
