Deputies Boxed In Pursued Vehicle

Two Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s deputies boxed in a vehicle to end a pursuit in Fond du Lac Wednesday afternoon. Chief Deputy Mark Strand says law enforcement has the right to cause an accident to end a chase and that’s what they did when the vehicle the deputies were pursuing ran into a parked car. He says the missing and endangered man they were looking for was off his medication and was talking about suicide by cop. He says the two men in the vehicle weren’t listening to deputies and deputies had to draw there weapons to get them to comply. The two deputies and the two men in the car suffered minor injuries and were taken to St. Agnes Hospital for treatment and released. The driver was taken into custody. Strand says there was minor damage to the two squad cars, but they can be driven until they are repaired. One of the squads was sideswiped, but Strand says it’s pretty structurally sound.
