Details Hammered Out On Downtown FDL Committee

The City of Fond du Lac will begin taking applications Friday for those who would like to serve on the Downtown Fond du Lac Committee. During a Committee of the Whole meeting Wednesday the Council met with Downtown Fond du Lac Partnership Board of Directors to hammer out the makeup of the committee and how many will serve on it. Council President Lee Ann Lorrigan says both the Council and the DFP Board want the same thing to make sure they have the kind of downtown residents want. The meeting went well, but Lorrigan says DFP Board members were consulted ahead of time about what they wanted to discuss during the meeting. During the Council’s regular meeting City Manager Joe Moore reviewed for those watching the meeting at home what was discussed at the committee of the whole meeting. Applications will be available starting Friday at the City’s website and also at the City Clerk’s office. Applications will be taken through Friday February 26th. Final appointments to the committee will be made at the Council’s March 9th meeting. The Council is looking for 17 committee members.  That will include 3 members each from business and downtown property owners, people who don’t shop downtown, and people who live downtown. Two members each will be selected from people 16-20-years-old, 21-35-years-old, 36-59-years-old, and 60 years or older.
